GMP Federation's Brett Grange recognised with BAWP Award

At a recent event to recognise the great work of our female officers, the GMP branch of BAWP gave Brett Grange, GMP Federation's equality lead, a special award for thanks in support of a number of issues, including: part time officer recruitment, arranging a maternity open day annually, forming sexual harassment support processes, identifying part time officer pension contributions short falls and helping to establish maternity volunteers across the force, to name just some of the work GMPF has been undertaking with it’s partners and the Force.

Brett said: “It is immensely rewarding to receive recognition from such hardworking and dedicated peers and leaders.

"The work we have been undertaking for years in the Federation to support Women, both formally and informally has come to the forefront in recent times and shows we can be at the vanguard of improvement. Member’s often are unaware of the support we give to those victim of harassment and discrimination and think we are only here for the person accused.”

GMPF value all the staff associations who are made up from hardworking volunteers, much like our reps. Like in everything we are stronger together and working as a team is the special skill policing has.
