New and expectant parents were welcomed by Greater Manchester Police Federation at Progress House at a maternity day.
Officers received advice and support from payroll managers, HR specialists, the DMS team and wellbeing volunteer coordinators - among others - about how to manage work while becoming a parent.
Brett Grange, Federation Equality Lead, said: “Every year officers leave the open day finding it a great help and support, officers can feel isolated from work whilst on maternity leave and the anxiety of returning can be high, days like this help significantly in reducing that and helping the return to work be as smooth as possible.
“It’s a great day to see many colleagues get hep, support and advice in real time and help make the maternity journey better for all involved.”
He praised the managers from Force Contact Centre who attended, adding: “They will put processes in place to make sure the situation is better for colleagues, which was great to see. We would always encourage managers to attend these as the impact can reach a whole team. Even though it’s only just been and gone we are looking forward to next year’s event.”
