Mike Peake, Vice Chair of Greater Manchester Police Federation, said: “Following the publication of Volume Two of the independent public Manchester Arena inquiry, today our thoughts remain with the survivors and for the families of those who tragically lost their lives.
“Volume Two, which centres on the emergency response to the unprecedented attack that took place at Manchester Arena on Monday 22nd May 2017, makes it clear that the coordination of the response was inadequate. In this regard I want to give an assurance that Greater Manchester Police Federation will continue to work with Greater Manchester Police to assist in any way we can.
“Despite the inadequacies it is important that we do not lose sight of the selfless and brave actions of those colleagues who ran towards danger that night to help those in desperate need.
“As such I would like to take the opportunity, as others have done before me, to praise the courage of those officers who on that dreadful night undoubtedly put the needs of others before their own personal safety.”
