New and expectant parents at Greater Manchester Police are being invited to a virtual maternity day next month

New and expectant parents at Greater Manchester Police are being invited to a virtual maternity day next month.
Officers would usually meet in person to find out about maternity issues and postnatal work/life balance, but this year the Federation has decided to hold the event online.
The event, to be held between 10am and 2.30pm on Monday 20 September, will address issues such as maternity pay and policy, health and wellbeing and return to work.
Brett Grange, Equality Lead for Greater Manchester Police Federation, said: “To mitigate the risk of Covid to expectant and new mothers, we knew we couldn’t carry on as if nothing had changed. Until we know more where we are with the virus and pregnancy, we felt the only responsible option was to hold an online maternity day.
“With help from the Wellbeing Team, we will hold a Sli-Do event with a MS Teams side meeting to provide private consultations.”
Attendees will be able to speak to colleagues from staff associations, members of the HR policy team and representatives from Greater Manchester Shared Services (GMSS).
The link for the event will be sent out on 13 September. Contact your Federation Representative for more information.
