Have your say: complete the Pay and Morale Survey

Dyfed Powys Police Federation members have the chance to respond to this year's police pay award by taking part in the Pay and Morale Survey.

Branch chair Delme Rees has said the system for determining police pay was ‘not fit for purpose’ after the Government rejected the Police Remuneration Review Body's (PRRB) of a 3.9 per cent pay rise. Instead officer pay will increase by 3.5 per cent.

Now Delme is encouraging officers to use the Pay and Morale Survey to share their views on the pay award, and other issues facing policing.

He said: “Our members will have every right to be frustrated by this year's pay award and the way it was reached.

“The Government has once again shown it can simply ignore the recommendations of the independent pay review body which, in my view and the view of many others, demonstrates that the current system is broken.

"That makes this year's Pay and Morale Survey more important than ever.

“gives our member the chance to tell us how they feel about their pay, their morale and the challenges they face every day.

"The more members who take part, the stronger the evidence we will have to present to the Government and decision makers and to push for a genuinely independent pay mechanism.

“Your experiences and your views will help shape our campaigns and strengthen our voice."
