A webinar shining a light on the challenges men are facing is being held this Friday (15 November), and Dyfed Powys Police Federation members are invited to attend.
The online session, which is being hosted by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) to mark Men’s Health Month (November), is being led by Zac Mader, PFEW’s men’s health lead.
Joining Zac will be Mark Brooks OBE, senior communications and policy advisor for Men’s Health, with the pair discussing the ongoing challenges and issues men face in the 21st century, specifically those in policing.
Delme Rees, chair of Dyfed Powys Police Federation, is urging members - both male and female - to attend: “There’s no denying that there’s still a stigma surrounding men’s health, but it’s events like these that help to break down those barriers and encourage our members to open up about how they are feeling.
“The reality is, men - and those in policing are no exception - constantly find themselves facing a number of challenges, including those in society, the workplace and mental wellbeing pressures.
“This webinar is a great opportunity to get those conversations going while showing members that they’re not alone in how they are feeling.”
Police Care UK will also be joining the session, showcasing useful resources for serving and retired police officers.
The online session will kick off at 12.45pm and is expected to finish at 2pm.
