Tips and advice to help Dyfed Powys Police Federation members quit cigarettes are available in a handy online guide to stop smoking for this year’s National No Smoking Day.
This year, National No Smoking Day takes place today (March 13) - but you can stop any day of the year.
Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to the police service, has published the free wellbeing guide to help and support members in stopping smoking.
Stopping smoking not only improves your short and long-term physical health, but it can also boost your bank balance.
The physical improvements can start within hours, the guide says, with oxygen levels recovering and harmful carbon monoxide levels reducing.
Those physical improvements can continue for years as lung function improves and the risk of heart attack and lung cancer reduces.
The guide also highlights how much money can be saved by quitting cigarettes, with an average smoker estimated to save around £2,000 a year by not smoking.
