Dyfed Powys Police Federation

Remembering fallen officers

18 October 2024

Today marks the anniversary of the tragic loss of three Dyfed Powys Police officers in a road accident.

DCs Leonid Evans, 41, Roger Meyrick, 37, and Nicholas Tabraham, 29, died on 18 October 1990 after their vehicle was in a collision with a lorry while on surveillance training.

Dyfed Powys Police Federation chair Delme Rees said: “This tragic incident would have sent shockwaves through the Force 34 years ago and the loss of these three officers continues to be felt, particularly by their families who we keep in our thoughts today.

“Our thoughts are with the officers’ loved ones and their colleagues as we remember them and the service they gave to the Force.”

A fourth DC died from injuries sustained in the accident 11 days later.
