With Cardiff having hosted last year’s annual National Police Memorial Day, the event this year moves on to Scotland.
The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow will be the venue for the memorial day service on Sunday 29 September.
“Each year the memorial day service moves from one nation of the UK to another,” says Gareth Jones, chair of Dyfed Powys Police Federation, “Last year, we were proud to see Wales play host to the event and this year we will travel to Scotland to represent the Force and our Federation branch at the service.
“The memorial day honours fallen officers from across the UK with police officers of all ranks standing shoulder to shoulder with those officers’ families to show that we remember their sacrifice.
“It is a moving service and a fitting tribute to our fallen colleagues. I would urge any officer who has never attended a National Police Memorial Day service to consider attending at least once during their career.”
