Dyfed Powys Police Federation is reassuring members that they will continue to give them a voice as the Force Review continues.
The Force Review aims to ensure the workforce can meet growing season demands, delivering a timely, compassionate, and effective response to domestic abuse in the safest working environment possible, while simultaneously enhancing supervision.
The first element of the proposal is to align road policing officers to uniform response codes.
Chair of Dyfed Powys Police Federation Gareth Jones said: “At the request of the chief officer team, we have been involved from the start of the review process and will continue to be as it rolls out.
“We’re in the early stages of the review, and the chief officer team has set out their proposals and suggested model. Further stages will follow, and we would like to reassure members that we continue to represent them and give them a voice as the review continues.”
The proposals suggest that bolstering numbers on uniform response teams will reduce the feeling of isolation, redistribute experience, improve mentorship, and reduce demand while improving the experience and outcomes for victims and employees.
Proposals are now subject to consultation.
Senior sponsors will review any feedback received during the two-week consultation period at a meeting taking place on Friday 9 February.
Final decisions will be communicated to those affected on Monday 12 February.
Anyone who needs to be part of a formal consultation process will be contacted by email directly. If you think you should form part of a process but have not received correspondence, please email: forcereviewyear2@dyfed-powys.police.uk
