Fed chair urges members to fill in crucial survey

Dyfed Powys branch chair Gareth Jones says the findings from this year’s pay and morale survey will help shape the Police Federation of England and Wales’s campaigns for fairer pay and conditions.

The survey has been launched today and Gareth is urging members to make their voices heard.

He said: “Our annual pay and morale survey helps us to build a clear understanding of the issues facing frontline police officers and will help shape and support our campaigns for fairer pay and conditions for our members.

“The survey provides us with a comprehensive picture of the realities of policing that we can take to our leadership team, to Government ministers, and other key stakeholders.

“The more members that take part the more power the Federation will have in those conversations - so please make your voice heard.”

Last year’s survey found that 77 per cent of respondents from Dyfed Powys Police said they were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their overall remuneration - including basic pay and allowances), while 19 per cent reported never or almost never having enough money to cover all their essentials.

Some 45 per cent of officers said their morale was low or very low and 81 per cent of respondents from Dyfed Powys Police felt morale in the force was low or very low.
