Dyfed Powys Police Federation

Branch chair urges members to register for online conference and have their say

5 October 2023

With a few days to go until the Police Federation of England and Wales conference, Dyfed Powys branch chair Gareth Jones is encouraging members to have their say on the issues that matter to them.

This year, PFEW’s flagship event takes place online only on Tuesday 10 October and Wednesday 11 October.

The conference will be a mix of live broadcasts and pre-recorded presentations from senior Federation officials as well as experts in policing, Government, and the Home Office.

Gareth said: “It’s your Federation and this is your opportunity to help shape its future and the future of the service.

“Conference is a chance to learn, share new ideas, and to engage with key figures in policing, and to have your say on the issues that matter.

“There’s still time to register to be part of the conference and I’d encourage as many members as possible to do so.”

The conference will be hosted by Talk TV presenter Ian Collins.

The day one agenda includes discussions on leadership in policing, Home Office review impact on independent panels, and disclosure and redaction, as well as retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.

Industrial rights and wellbeing will be explored on day two when there will be a keynote address from PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn and a Q&A panel session.

The conference will also recognise outstanding contributions to policing through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.
