To recognise International Women's Day an event was organised by the Cleveland Police Women’s Network.Paul Crowley, Federation Chair attended.
“Today, I was lucky enough to spend the day alongside the Cleveland Police Women’s Network, to witness the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, to hear the moving stories shared within the ‘PFEW Inspiring Inclusion webinar’ and to meet a handful of the inspiring women we are lucky to have amongst us in Cleveland Police.
International Women's Day serves as a powerful reminder of the significance women play in keeping our communities safe. Today, we celebrate the achievements of women in policing and to acknowledge the challenges they face both personally and professionally. By highlighting the achievements of those past and present, we inspire future generations of female officers and pave the way for a more equitable and inclusive police force.”
The Cleveland Police Women’s Network enables staff and officers to come together and share experiences, opportunities and knowledge in a safe environment.Wendy Roy, Cleveland Police’s Women’s Network Chair who was also in attendance said “Happy International Women’s Day everyone, a great opportunity to collaborate with the federation today, the session was great.
"Let’s continue to Inspire our Women within Cleveland Police and support them as much as we can. Continuing to challenge misogyny and being upstanders and not bystanders for Women. Inclusivity and supporting other women on a daily basis, let's support our colleagues going through Menopause / Maternity or any other female related issues. Let's all care a bit more about Women in the workplace”
