The City of London Police Federation were delighted as ever – as part of the Rupert Fund Charity – to support the loved ones of those that laid their lives down for their communities in Northern Ireland.
It was a weekend packed with events and packed with memories.
This year marked the 49th Rupert Fund trip for Widows & Mothers of fallen officers from The Royal Ulster Constabulary and Police Service of Northern Ireland.
From Thursday to Monday sees a schedule to give respite from life and the burdens carried.
Thanks to colleagues at Surrey Police Federation, Kent Police Federation, the British Transport Police Federation and the Metropolitan Police Federation for their support to the event and the widows and mothers.
Thanks to Andy Jacks and St Paul’s Cathedral security team for a group tour. Thanks to M. S. Webb - Enforcement, Security & Support Services for donating an amazing afternoon tea at the Dorchester Hotel.
Mike Reed, Chair of the City of London Police Federation, said: “We are so glad to be able to do a small thing every year to make these incredible ladies know people do care for them, which is evident by the doors that open and the special places they get to visit when you mention who they are.
“Thanks to all those that provided these experiences for the special ladies, each and everyone. And thanks to my colleagues Jo Westhead & Suzanne Ferris whose planning made this work and who provided fresh ideas to make it great.
“Planning is already underway for the big 50th anniversary of the Rupert Charity next year.”
