Family Fun Day Attracts Hundreds

28 July 2026

Hundreds of officers, police staff and family members enjoyed free entertainment, refreshments and sunshine at the annual City of London Police Family Fun Day on Saturday 25 July.

Attendees received free food and drink tokens, ice cream and raffle tickets with the opportunity to win great family prizes. Everyone enjoyed the traditional fete stalls, including a coconut shy and hoopla, and children loved the face-painting stall, photo booth, balloon artist and circus skills workshop.

Performances by a magician and the Hammersmith Morris Dancers added to the fun, and one of the highlights of the day was the police dog display, organised by the force’s Dog Section.

City of London Police Federation’s Operations Lead, Jo Westhead, said: “Events like this are about far more than just a day of entertainment. They provide an opportunity for families to gain a greater understanding of the incredible work their loved ones do every day to keep our communities safe, while also giving us the chance to say a heartfelt thank you for their contributions throughout the year.”

"One attendee said: "What a lovely event to bring the force together. My family loved the police displays and free ice cream and getting to see all the stands. The face painting was a bonus and it felt so safe for them to run around. Will definitely bring them again!"

Another said: "We had a fantastic couple of hours and enjoyed it all with our 6 and 4 year old."

And a third attendee added: "Everything was great, my children loved the games with prizes and the police dogs. The chaps from firearms really took their time with my children and made them feel special. Quote from my 7 year old: 'Best day ever Dad'"

The Family Fun Day was organised by the City of London Police Federation.

Thanks to the key supporters and sponsors: the Chief Officer Team, City of London Police Authority Board, CIS Security, Gallagher, City of London Police Charity for Children, Police Insure, Bishopsgate Crime Prevention Association, Accord Legal Services, Police Friendly and Met Friendly, Police Mortgages and Uniform Mortgages.
