City of London Police Federation is the staff association representing police officers from the rank of Constable up to and including Chief Inspector. We seek to represent our members at the force, regional and national level, intending to negotiate and influence on their behalf. As well as seeking to improve pay and conditions at the local level, we also help our members with issues around conduct, attendance, performance and equality.
Nationally, the Police Federation of England and Wales is one of the largest staff associations in the UK representing almost 120,000 rank and file officers.
Established by the Police Act of 1919, the Police Federation was introduced to provide officers with a platform to bring their views on welfare and efficiency to the notice of the government and police authorities.
The Police Federation does for you what a trade union seeks to do for its members, but there are important differences. The Federation is controlled entirely by serving police officers and it is not affiliated or associated with any bodies outside the service and is completely independent of political parties.
We are the voice of the police service and campaign tirelessly on behalf of our members to ensure you are given a fair deal financially, legally and professionally.
Any press enquires specifically for the City of London Police Federation should be directed to the office for the attention of the Chair Mike Reed.
