Sergeants and inspectors asked to support research project

Sergeants and inspectors are being asked to help a Force superintendent with a master’s degree research project.

Superintendent Nathan Murray, interim chief of staff, is currently completing a master’s in management and leadership and, as part of his dissertation, is undertaking research to investigate whether greater engagement in cross-departmental development is associated with higher servant leadership behaviours among sergeants and inspectors. 

“Servant leadership is a values-based leadership philosophy where the leader’s primary goal is to serve others first,” Nathan explains, “I would greatly appreciate sergeants and inspectors taking part in my study. The survey, which takes the form of an anonymous questionnaire, should only take around 10 minutes to complete.”
