West Midlands Police Federation chair Jess Davies has extended the branch’s sympathies to colleagues in Northumbria Police following the death of a serving officer.
PC Jess Turnbull was injured while responding to an incident on the A189 in Cramlington on Monday (8 June) and died in hospital yesterday. She was 19 and had joined the Northumbria force in September last year.
“The death of any officer is felt across the whole police service and within the communities we serve,” says Jess Davies, “The fact that Jess was so young and so new to policing makes her death particularly tragic.
“Our thoughts are with her family, her friends and her colleagues and, on behalf of everyone within the West Midlands Police Federation branch, I would like to extend my sympathies to them.”
