Three new officials have been elected to fill full-time roles within the West Midlands Police Federation branch office.

Jon Nott, a former branch chair, has been selected as the branch’s first full-time lead for probationers. He has previously combined representing new officers with his role as co-lead for equality and diversity. The West Midlands branch is one of the first in the country to have a full-time probationer lead.

His equality and diversity role will be filled be Leon Allen, who will work alongside co-lead Julie Fleming.

Gavin Stockton has been elected as co-lead for health and safety, and wellbeing and will work alongside Ali Rowe. They are filling the role of Patick McBrearty who retires soon.

“We are pleased to welcome these three new officials to the Federation office,” says Chris James, branch secretary, “We would also like to put on record our thanks to the other reps who put themselves forward for these positions. They had relevant skills and experience which ensured we had a credible election.”

Jon and Gavin will take up their posts on 1 November and Leon on 1 December.

The Federation has just held elections for vacancies on the Branch Council with 19 new workplace representatives having been selected. They will start their training next month when their details will be published on our Find a rep page.
