Have your say on police pay

Members are being urged to have their say on police pay in the Police Friendly Family Finance Index Survey.
And, as an added incentive to take part, everyone taking part will be in with a chance of winning one of ten £100 Amazon gift cards*.
“The results of this survey will give a clear indication of officers’ views on their pay and the financial pressures they are facing,” says Jess Davies, chair of West Midlands Police Federation, “I hope that as many members as possible will take the time to submit their responses because the more who take part the more definitive the results will be.”
The research aims to identify and measure critical financial challenges facing the police family and establish an ongoing measure to enable comparison over time. It is intended to highlight key themes to inform policy development and provide guidance for areas of financial wellbeing support.
The last annual report, based on more than 13,500 responses from across the UK police family, highlighted:
- 68 per cent of police officers and 51 per cent of police staff reported current financial concerns
- 56 per cent of police officers and 44 per cent of police staff said their financial situation had worsened over the past year.
The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and respondents can opt to remain anonymous.
