Federation supports Community Iftar

West Midlands Police Federation secretary Tim Rogers will be among the guests attending the annual West Midlands Association of Muslim Police Annual Community Iftar being held at Tally Ho tomorrow afternoon.

The Federation has sponsored the event, with its sponsorship covering the cost of providing prayer facilities.

“We are pleased to have been able to sponsor the Iftar. Events such as this are always well-attended and provide the Federation branch with the opportunity to support members, while also strengthening our relationships across the Force and within the wider community,” said Tim.

Ed Barnes, chair of the West Midlands Association of Muslim Police (AMP), has welcomed the Federation’s support.

“The Federation’s sponsorship has enabled us to provide one of the most essential pieces of the evening. Provision for prayer is one of our five pillars and it’s crucial we have a facility to pray,” he explained.

“We are grateful for the support from the Federation branch. The AMP and the Federation have always had a good relationship and I am sure this will continue in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.”

The theme for this year’s Iftar, which is being held in the Lord Knights Suite and starts at 4pm, is resilience, reflection and renewal.
