Fed rep elections: Q and A session next week

28 August 2026

A Q and A session with Federation officials will be held online next week for members considering putting themselves forward for workplace representative positions in the forthcoming elections.

The online session will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Friday 4 September and follows a successful first meeting last week.

West Midlands Police Federation currently has vacancies for workplace representatives and will be holding elections next month with nominations opening on 9 September and closing on 23 September. Voting will take place between 25 September and 9 October.

“We have been contacted by a good number of members interested in standing in the elections which is really pleasing,” says Matt Manwaring, branch deputy secretary, “But we are still keen to hear from other officers. We want the Federation to be truly representative of the membership.

“The Q and A sessions have been organised so that any member can find out more about what the workplace rep role entails, what training and support is available, what challenges it can bring but also what makes it rewarding.”

The final online Q and A session will be held on Thursday 10 September from 11am to 12 noon.
