Nominations for the West Midlands Police Federation Bravery Awards 2026 are now open, with submissions for exceptional Solihull-based officers being encouraged.
On a daily basis, personnel at West Midlands Police put their own safety on the line to perform their duties and help the Force protect the public in the most critical circumstances.
The remarkable courage and selflessness this requires is celebrated by the Federation at an annual ceremony, which sees winners from geographical categories and then one overall winner announced.
The 2026 West Midlands Police Federation Bravery Awards ceremony – the third of its kind – is set to be held in January, following nominations from each of the following areas:
· Birmingham
· Coventry
· Dudley
· Sandwell
· Solihull
· Walsall
· Wolverhampton
Additionally, there is an ‘other’ category for officers from outside these areas, as well as an Inspiration in Policing Award presented in memory of the late Sam Hughes, who died in 2023 and was formerly deputy chair of West Midlands Police Federation.
If you know of a colleague based in Solihull who has gone above and beyond and shown outstanding courage over the last year, you can put them forward for acknowledgement now.

Last year's Solihull nominees for the Bravery Awards.
At the previous Bravery Awards, Sergeant Jess Davies – now Federation branch chair – and PCs Charlene Scott and Steve Worrall were announced as winners for Solihull for their decisive actions when threatened with a loaded handgun.
The trio were pursuing a suspicious car when the driver suddenly pulled the weapon on them, before they bravely retreated without any cover from potential gunfire and managed to escape the location safely.
The deadline for 2026 Bravery Awards nominations is Tuesday 30 September.
