West Midlands Police Federation secretary Tim Rogers laid a wreath during a Remembrance Day service at Lloyd House yesterday.
The annual service at Force Headquarters included readings and a two-minute silence at 11am. Assistant Chief Constables Matt Wellsted and Ian Parnell were in attendance.
“It is important that we come together to honour military personnel and others who died in wars and we particularly pay tribute to police officers and staff who lost their lives in conflicts,” says Tim.
“This year’s Armistice Day services had an additional poignancy in that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.”
Other organisations to lay wreaths during the service included the West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund which was represented by chair John Williams, a former Federation branch chair.
Force standard bearers attended the service which ended with The Last Post and the bugle call of Reveille.
