Group Insurance Scheme: couple discount for partner officer subscribers

The West Midlands Police Federation Group Insurance Scheme provides its subscribers with comprehensive cover, tailored to the needs of police officers and staff, at a competitive price.

And, if two serving officers are married or are co-habiting partners, they could qualify for a rating discount on one of their subscriptions and still qualify for the full cover provided.

Adding a spouse or partner to a serving officer’s policy usually costs an extra £11 a month, for life assurance of £75,000, critical illness cover of £7,500, legal expenses cover, personal accident benefits, RAC breakdown and mobile phone/gadget insurance only.

Reduced rate

However, if you and your partner are both serving officers for West Midlands Police and individually subscribe to the scheme you are able to get one of the serving officer policies at a reduced rate due to some cover duplication.  This will give the spouse or partner the full scheme cover for a reduced cost of £23.14 a month, a saving of £6.18 a month on a serving officer’s policy*.
