Fund set up to help officer

A GoFundMe page has been set up by family and friends to support a Gloucestershire police officer whose wife and two young children died in a house fire in the early hours of Boxing Day.
The funds raised will help PS Tom Shearman with immediate and practical needs including essentials, accommodation and the financial space to grieve without added pressure.
“Tom valiantly made repeated efforts to re-enter the property and save his family but was overcome by the sheer intensity of the fire. He is being supported both by the Force and his local (Federation) branch and we are grateful for the kind messages of support that many of you have sent,” said Ian White, chair of Gloucestershire Police Federation.
He added: “Nothing will make this right, however, we can show that Tom is not alone and that his police family stand shoulder to shoulder with him during his darkest hours.”
