Set for its third edition in January, the Bravery Awards celebrate the courage and selflessness of officers across the Force who risk their own safety to keep the public out of harm’s way.
Following a nomination period, the ceremony will announce the winners of various geographical categories before confirming an overall winner.
Nominees are organised into the following areas:
Birmingham
Coventry
Dudley
Sandwell
Solihull
Walsall
Wolverhampton
On the night, there will also be an ‘other category’ for officers from outside of these areas, and a title presented in memory of the late Sam Hughes – who died in 2023 and was formerly West Midlands Police Federation deputy chair – called the Inspiration in Policing Award.
Whether it was taking a weapon off the streets, resolving a hostage situation, or handling a counter-terrorism operation – or any other incident you think deserves acknowledgement – you can put forward a firearms colleague for recognition now.
The nomination deadline for the West Midlands Police Federation Bravery Awards 2026 is Tuesday 30 September 2025.
