Federation to take part in Force wellbeing event

Acting branch chair Jess Davies will be available in person to answer members’ Federation-related questions at a wellbeing event being held at Force headquarters.

Jess will be on the West Midlands Police Federation stand alongside rep Nicky Perkins for the event.

Titled A focus on health and wellbeing, it will be held at Lloyd House on Tuesday 8 April (9am to 3pm).

The event is due to be opened by Simon Foster, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and aims to highlight the support and services available to West Midlands Police officers.

As well as the Federation branch, attendees will include Sophie Petrie, the West Midlands Police’s wellbeing manager; Rani Gundhu and Lorayne Brown, from the Force’s Black and Asian Police Association (BAPA); and Vaneesha Sahota, of Women in Policing.

Steve Newbury, of the Benevolent Fund; George Beard, from the Professional Standards Department (PSD); and Jo Pritchard, of the Neurodiversity and Enable staff network, will also attend.

West Midlands Police’s multi-faith chaplaincy will be represented by Jagpreet Jutla, sports and social will be represented by Peter Wright, and Rebecca Guttridge will be attending from Learning and Development.

Other attendees include rewards and benefits, corporate communications, and the Force’s wellbeing dog.

And there will be a series of sessions members can book onto, including wellbeing and PSD, which will be in-person, while those on interview skills and imposter syndrome will be held on Teams.
