DC Michael Swindells: anniversary today

A West Midlands Police officer posthumously awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal is today remembered by West Midlands Police Federation.

DC Michael Swindells, who was 44, was stabbed after pursuing a suspect on a towpath along the Tame Valley Canal on 21 May 2004. His attacker had earlier threatened members of the public with a knife.
