Conference 2025: two-day event next week

12 November 2025

Tiff

Tiff Lynch will address conference for the first time as national chair.

Pay and conditions and the ongoing negotiations for officers’ 2026 pay award will be among the topics discussed at this year’s national Police Federation conference.

The conference at Birmingham’s NEC takes place over two days next week – Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 November – and will be attended by delegates from Federation branches across England and Wales.

West Midlands Police Federation will be represented by 14 delegates as well as branch chair Jess Davies and secretary Tim Rogers.

Key issues

The conference, which is called ‘One Federation: Putting Members First’, will also be streamed on the Police Federation of England and Wales’ YouTube channel.

“I would urge all reps who are not attending the conference to either watch live or on catch-up, as many of the key issues affecting officers will be discussed,” says Jess.

“I hope that members will also take an interest and perhaps tune in on Tuesday and Wednesday next week to listen to some of the sessions live or just watch some of the debates and presentations later.

“We will include full coverage of the conference in the next edition of our branch magazine which will be published at the end of this month too.”

The conference will be hosted by presenter Ian Collins and will include a keynote speech by Tiff Lynch who became national chair of the Federation in the summer.

Awards

Federation secretary John Partington will lead the Tuesday afternoon session on pay and conditions while later that day chief executive Mukund Krishna will address conference with an input called ‘One Federation’.

On the Wednesday, there will be an update on the Federation’s DG6 campaign and a panel discussion around the suicide crisis in the police service.

A number of awards will be presented over the two days:

  • Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing
  • Detective of the Year
  • Investigation of the Year, and
  • Response Officer of the Year.
