The wellbeing dog was a welcome visitor to the roadshow.
Members based at Solihull were able to find out more about the support available from West Midlands Police Federation and the Benevolent Fund during a roadshow event held at the LPU’s Vanessa Carroll Suite.
Federation deputy chair Mat Minton and workplace representative Scott Davies were on hand to answer questions about the Federation’s work while representatives of the Ben Fund gave out information on the benefits it offers to its subscribers.
“The roadshow programme has been put together to make it easier for members to find out more about the support the Federation can offer and also to provide an opportunity for them to ask questions about the issues they are concerned about,” says Jess.
“While there are always full-time officials available through our Guardians House office and workplace representatives across the Force area, we believe that the roadshows can make it easier for members to drop in and have a chat.
“Usually we have representatives of some of our member service providers with us at the roadshows, but they were unable to make the Solihull date. But we did have a special visitor – the Force wellbeing dog, Margot, who is always well-received!”
After the roadshow which ran from 10am until 2pm, Mat and Federation chair Jess Davies went out with officers on response to see first-hand the issues members are facing.
The roadshows will continue in 2026 with dates across the Force area:
14 January – Sandwell LPA – West Bromwich Police Station.
26 March – Coventry LPA – Willenhall Police Station.
22 April – Walsall LPA – Bloxwich Police Station.
