Is your uniform fit for purpose? Is it comfortable? Does it impede you in your work?
West Midlands Police Federation members are being encouraged to have their say by taking part in the first-ever National Police Uniform and Equipment Survey.
The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) is collaborating with researchers at Lancaster University on the survey.
It has had input from the National Police Chiefs’ Council, the Police Superintendents’ Association, UNISON and the Home Office, and data will help shape future uniform policy.
The survey explores a range of issues including whether the uniform is comfortable, whether it affects officers’ health to how it makes them feel.
West Midlands Police Federation chair Rich Cooke said: “We want to give decision makers a complete picture of any issues around uniform and equipment facing our members and would encourage as many as possible to take the survey.”
The survey is open now and closes on Monday 12 August, and members are being encouraged to take part.
