Officers looking for a weekend away can take advantage of a 20 per cent discount on bed and breakfast at the Police Treatment Centre (PTC) in Harrogate.
The deal is only available for Friday 7 June to Saturday 8 June and is open to anyone with a Blue Light Card. It is being offered to coincide with the annual Bed Race in neighbouring Knaresborough.
A number of staff from the PTC have secured places in the race which features a 2.4-mile course around the streets of Knaresborough, finishing in a dash through the River Nidd.
The PTC team will be raising money for a new Game Ready rehabilitation machine to help PTC patients’ recovery.
Use the code BEDRACE20 to get 20 per cent off your booking when you book now. All revenue generated from the B & B weekends goes back into the PTC charity to support the facilities and treatment programme it provides for members of the police family.
The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity supported by voluntary donations from the police family primarily in the Northern forces of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but also from British Transport Police, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and the Ministry of Defence Police.
It provides two treatment centres – one in Harrogate, the other in Auchterarder - where subscribing members can receive treatment following an illness or injury. It also offers an online physiotherapy service.
Almost 4,000 people attend the PTCs each year with most receiving intensive physiotherapy. Others seek support with stress-related conditions or anxiety and depression as part of the PTC’s psychological wellbeing programme.
