West Midlands Police Federation today remembers PC Ryan Hunt who died on this day in 2006.
Ryan, who was 31, was working undercover on a major drugs operation in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, when he was in collision with a lorry.
He had played a large part in the jailing of a number of men caught during Operation Accordance in which he had adopted a false identity to help trap suspected drug dealers.
Having join the Force in 2001 after five years in the Royal Navy, Ryan was described as a “popular and respected” officer.
