Sam Hughes: Force opens book of condolence

The Force has opened a book of condolence so that people can pay their own tribute to the deputy chair of West Midlands Police Federation.

Sam (53) sadly died on Wednesday (15 March).

Having joined the Force in 2003, Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and, on returning to work the following year, worked in PPU at West Bromwich within the review and allocation team.

She became a Federation workplace representative in 2020 and was elected as the branch’s deputy chair in December 2021.
