Wellbeing roadshow touring Force

21 March 2022

Members can get advice and support on a range of issues by visiting West Midlands Police’s wellbeing roadshow.

The roadshow will give members access to physical health checks, wellbeing support and financial  advice.

It will also provide an opportunity for members to find out about services and benefits available to them.

Sam Hughes, West Midlands Police Federation deputy chair, said: “The pandemic has really impacted people and we’re now going through a cost of living crisis, so it feels like things are more uncertain than ever before.

“That uncertainty can really affect people and their wellbeing. It’s great to see that being acknowledged and the roadshow going out into the Force area to provide that support, advice, and reassurance to members.

“And it’s a great opportunity for members to find out more about the wellbeing support available to them.”

The Police Federation will be part of the roadshow to talk about the benefits and support it can offer, and other staff associations will also take part.

Officers and staff will be able to get health and wellbeing advice and mini-health checks from West Midlands Police health and fitness advisers, while the Force’s chaplain, Truffles, the wellbeing dog, and the West Midlands Police Sports and Wellbeing Association will also be in attendance.

The mental health charity Birmingham Mind, Aquarius, a charity providing alcohol, drug and gambling support, and Vivup, which provides benefits schemes will also be involved and members will have the chance to find out more about mental health first aid courses.

The roadshow kicks off from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 25 March at Ridgepoint House.

On Monday 28 March (8am - 2pm) it’s at the counter-terrorism unit, on Tuesday 29 March (10.30am - 3.30pm) it will be in G2 at Lloyd House and on Wednesday 30 March (1.30am - 3.30pm) it will be in conference rooms one and two in West Bromwich.

The roadshow will move to the Gavin Carlton Suite of Coventry Central Police Station (10.30am - 3.30pm) on 31 March and finishes on 1 April (10.30am - 3.30pm) in rooms six and seven at Perry Barr Police Station.
