West Midlands Police Federation members are being urged to take part in an important survey aimed at canvassing officers’ thoughts and opinions on health and safety.
The survey is being conducted by the Force with our continued collaborative approach to improving health and safety and to ensuring officers are properly consulted on health and safety as stated in the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance.
Federation branch health and safety lead Deano Walker said: “We’re encouraging members to fill out this survey because it's a great opportunity for them to have their say on this important issue.
“The questions are a little closed but officers are invited to make their views known in the additional comments sections.”
Deano said the survey was important because its findings could be used to help improve safety across the Force, in buildings and out on the streets.
“It’s so important for officers to take part in this,” he explained, “They are the eyes and ears across the Force and they experience all the health and safety issues.
“The Federation will see the full results of this survey and we will follow up all the issues raised.”
The survey closes on 31 March. There is a link on the intranet and all officers should have received an email inviting them to take part.
In the meantime, Deano said any members who have health and safety concerns they wish to raise with the Federation should feel free to contact him on dwalker@westmids.polfed.org.
