The West Midlands branch of the Police Federation took part in a service of remembrance at Tally Ho this morning.
Interim secretary Tim Rogers laid a wreath as part of the service, as did Chief Constable David Thompson, Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster and John Williams, chair of the West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund.
“It is important for us to come together to remember those brave men and women who gave their lives in serving their country,” says Tim, “We paid our respects and joined the nation in a two-minute silence at 11am, marking the 102 years that have passed since the first silence was observed on Armistice Day on 11 November 1919 a year after the end of the First World War.”
