Rich Cooke becomes branch chair

Rich Cooke says he is delighted to have been elected as the chair of West Midlands Police Federation after a members’ vote.

And he paid tribute to Jon Nott, who had been branch chair since November 2019.

Rich said: “A massive thanks to all who have voted. I’m delighted to have been elected. I have enjoyed the campaign, meeting officers in wide and varied roles around the Force. It’s given me a greater appreciation of the challenges we collectively face.

“My personal thanks to Jon who has worked hard for our members during this difficult period. I am very much looking forward to the future and what we can achieve together to help ease the unprecedented demands on colleagues.”

In turn, Jon has congratulated Rich on his successful campaign.

“I want to congratulate Rich on his election as chair and wish him every success in his new role. It has been an honour and privilege to chair West Midlands Police Federation, to support members and to act as their voice. I will do all I can to continue to support colleagues.”
