Fed elections: nominations deadline approaches
15 July 2021
Nominations for Police Federation workplace representatives opened at the start of the month and members considering standing are being encouraged to do so as soon as possible with the 22 July deadline fast approaching.
West Midlands branch chair Jon Nott said: “Nominations for the elections are now open and we would urge any members thinking about putting themselves forward as a workplace rep to do so.
“It is open to every subscribing member but we would particularly urge officers from under-represented groups to stand for election so that we can ensure the branch is representative of the membership.
“Being a workplace rep can be challenging but it is also incredibly rewarding. If anyone is considering putting themselves forward but wants more information they are welcome to contact me.”
Elections for Federation reps are held every three years with interim elections being organised if positions become vacant.
Nominations for Fed reps for this year’s election close at 11.59pm on 22 July.
All subscribing PFEW members should have received an email directly to their PNN address (or their selected preferred email address) from the Federation’s independent third-party electoral service provider, Mi-Voice. Members are asked to check their junk mailbox if they cannot see the email from Mi-Voice in their inbox.
Non-subscribing members cannot stand for election but can vote. Details of the voting platform will be provided in the coming weeks once the nomination period is closed.
The email to subscribing members contains a link to an online nomination form. Members who wish to stand for election will need to complete the form, which includes confirming that they are eligible to stand and agree to the Standards and Performance Agreement.
