West Midlands Police Federation chair Jon Nott is encouraging members to stay in touch with the latest coronavirus information by accessing an online hub launched by Oscar Kilo, the National Police Wellbeing Service.
The COVID-19 Coronavirus Hub brings together advice from the Government, the NHS and the World Health Organisation while Oscar Kilo is also working to support and guide forces through the crisis and help them to communicate key messages to officers and staff.
The hub includes advice on a range of topics including self-isolation, social-distancing in a public role and coping with quarantine.
Jon said: “We are living through a crisis that is completely unprecedented in our life-times. We are having to quickly adapt to changes to the way we live, work and interact with each other and the communities we serve. The situation seems to be constantly moving and evolving and we have to stay on top of that as best we can, which is where this hub can help.
“Oscar Kilo is advising the National Police Chiefs’ Council response around workforce welfare and wellbeing and is providing support to all forces by taking existing Government guidance and translating it into a policing context.
“With so much going on, it’s great to have easy access to all the guidance and resources in an online hub and we would encourage members to keep themselves informed of the latest advice and information. The hub also offers signposting to support organisations and resources.”
The hub, which is updated with new resources and advice as and when it becomes available, houses a resource library with infographics that could be used in force.
