Message of sympathy after PC’s death

West Midlands Police Federation chair Jon Nott has extended his sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of South Yorkshire Police motorcyclist Matt Lannie who tragically died in a road accident while on duty on Tuesday afternoon.

PC Lannie (40) was responding to an incident when his motorbike was in collision with a car in the Ecclesfield area of Sheffield.

“On behalf of West Midlands Police Federation, I would like to send my deepest sympathy to PC Lannie’s family, friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are with them all at this time,” said Jon.

“PC Lannie died in the line of duty, serving his community. His death is felt by the whole policing family and serves as a dreadful reminder of the risks and dangers officers face each time they carry out a shift seeking to fight crime, keep order and protect vulnerable members of the public.”
