The latest edition of the West Midlands Police Federation magazine is available online now.
The December 2020/January 2021 edition of Federation features Jon Nott, branch chair, reflecting on his first year in the role.
He commends members for going “above and beyond to serve their communities” and acknowledges that it has been a tough year. In another article, he describes the public sector pay freeze as “disgraceful”.
Chief Constable Dave Thompson echoes Jon’s words in a message to members and speaks about his pride at how they have reacted to the pandemic.
Other stories include how workplace representative Sam Hughes has been contacted by officers from across the country asking for a copy of a list of tips she collated after receiving treatment for breast cancer.
There are articles on Sergeant Joe Trusselle being awarded the British Empire Medal, how the West Midlands Police Dogs Benevolent Fund has been affected by the pandemic and Federation representative Giles Dean who looks back on his 30 years of policing.
There is also the 2020 review of the year which is a snapshot of Federation news from the last 12 months.
