Children with at least one parent or carer who is a police officer can continue to send their children to school during the coronavirus outbreak, the Government has confirmed.
Police officers are among a list of critical workers that also includes NHS staff, farmers and food retail workers.
Parents who are not on the list are being asked to keep their children at home after today while the Government has asked schools to stay open for pupils who absolutely need to attend.
Despite schools opening for the children of critical workers, officers do not have to send their children to school if they don’t need or wish to do so.
