West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund received a cash boost in December thanks to the generosity of its members and WMP staff.
Just under £450 was raised for the charity and the Benevolent Fund want to say a big thank you to everyone who donated cash to their Christmas bauble initiative at HQ and online.
Donations kept coming throughout the month of December and the Fund received some very touching Christmas messages that were displayed on the Ben Fund Christmas tree in the police HQ café.
The West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund relies on subscriptions from members as well as donations. Money raised supports serving officers, retired officers and police staff in times of need.
“We are extremely grateful for the recent donations during the festive season. The baubles were intended to be an alternative to the traditional Christmas cards, with police colleagues directly benefiting from peoples kindness”, explains Steve Newbury, the fund’s general manager.
“Your donations will enable us to provide life changing equipment to members’ who have been injured whilst on duty, support those diagnosed with a serious illness or coping with a chronic health condition and offer help to those dealing with an unexpected life event.”
