We want to wish police officers, staff, volunteers and the public who help and support us in our jobs a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
The police service does not stop over Christmas and we know from experience the personal sacrifices that are made by officers during the festive period.
While some of you may be looking forward to leave, many will be working throughout the festive period to protect the public and keep people safe - and they’ll be missing out on precious time with loved ones.
That dedication and sacrifice, which can be acutely felt over Christmas, is hugely appreciated by the vast majority of the public, who value and respect the work that we do as police officers.
On behalf of them, and the Federation, we want to thank you for your commitment and hard work.
We hope you’re able to spend some time at least with family and friends, and to have some much-needed downtime.
It’s important to look out for yourself and others, and to take care of your wellbeing.
If you are struggling, or you know of a colleague who is, then please reach out for support. You’re never alone.
Enjoy the festivities and keep safe.
