With just a few days to go until this year’s Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) annual conference, Welsh Lead Nicky Ryan is encouraging as many members from the four Welsh branches to get involved.
This year, PFEW’s flagship event takes place online on Tuesday 10 October and Wednesday 11 October.
The conference will be a mix of live broadcasts and pre-recorded presentations from senior Federation officials as well as experts in policing, Government, and the Home Office.
Nicky said: “Conference gives us the chance to reflect on the past year while exploring some of the challenges our members are facing.
“It’s an opportunity for us to share best practice, discuss new ideas and engage with key figures in policing. And with this year’s two-day event being held online, I’m hoping as many of our Welsh members as possible join in and take part in the debates and discussions.”
The conference will be hosted by Talk TV presenter Ian Collins.
The day one agenda includes discussions on leadership in policing, Home Office review impact on independent panels, and disclosure and redaction, as well as retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.
Industrial rights and wellbeing will be explored on day two when there will be a keynote address from PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn and a Q&A panel session.
The conference will also recognise outstanding contributions to policing through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.
