Welsh lead honours ‘exceptional’ brave officers

11 October 2021

Ahead of the Police Bravery Awards 2020, the Federation’s Welsh lead has honoured all nominees and highlighted the exceptional contribution of the 12 officers from Wales who are in line for an award.

A total of 94 officers from 42 forces across England and Wales will be at the bravery awards, which are organised by the Police Federation of England and Wales, on Tuesday.

Nicky Ryan, the Federation’s Welsh lead, said:  “It’s wonderful that after last year’s cancellation of the bravery awards ceremony due to the pandemic we will all be able to gather together and give all the 2020 nominees the recognition they deserve.

“All nominees demonstrate the bravery and selfless sacrifice that make a truly great police officer. I’m so proud we have 12 nominees in total from across the four Welsh forces – each of them a truly exceptional individual.”

The awards, which recognise exceptional bravery from police officers, will be presented in a special ceremony in London on Tuesday 12 October.
