Accord Legal Services

Accord Legal Services are a national legal services organisation that specialise in providing a free fully advised Will writing service to strategic partners.  We specialise in working with the police as well as other sectors.

What stands Accord apart from other providers offering a free Will?

Every Will that we draft is based on instructions taken during a consultation, we do not send out self-service forms or provide a weblink to fill in, in our opinion this is no better than a DIY make a Will pack from WH Smiths.  The consultation is thorough, we listen to what is important to the individual, what are they trying to achieve in their estate planning, who do they want to inherit and importantly who do they want to ensure does not benefit from their estate.

Our advisor's role is to play devil's advocate and make the client aware of certain risk factors that could affect their beneficiaries, especially when it comes to blended families, where there are children from previous relationships involved or cohabiting partners, in both of these scenarios there is risk to be considered.  All of which can be mitigated by having the correct Will in place.

Our aim at the end of the consultation is to ensure that the client is fully informed of their circumstances and understand any potential risks to their chosen beneficiaries inheritance, and options to mitigate.

Scope of the Offering

Our offering is to all police officers and their spouse / partners, federation and police staff.  The normal cost of a standard Will is £95 + VAT for a single Will and £150 + VAT for mirror Wills.  This will be credited to applicants account to offset the cost.

Accords offering removes the price barrier enabling all police officers to have an up-to-date Will in place .  We understand in policing that officers never know from one day to the next what challenges they could face.  Everyone, especially police officers should have a Will in place as we just never know what could happen tomorrow.
