Pay and Morale Survey 2024

Annual Pay and Morale Survey 2024 to gauge the strength of how our members currently feel about pay, morale and welfare.

The findings from this survey continue to be invaluable in providing critical national and regional evidence to support our ongoing national pay campaign in calling for fairer remuneration for police officers and are pivotal for improving working conditions.

This year we have included three additional topical questions which we need your views on:

What unique aspects of policing should be considered when police pay is being reviewed?

This is to capture which aspects of members’ role should be considered and included in the police pay structure.

Given the recent unrest across the UK, how safe and supported did you feel whilst on duty?

By sharing their invaluable experiences on the frontline, we can press stakeholders for stronger welfare support, enhanced training and better equipment for public order duties.

Does social media have an impact on the way you are able to perform your role?

The rise of social media has presented policing with never-seen-before challenges and we take this opportunity to know directly from our members how it has impacted you.

The Pay & Morale Survey aims to be the largest survey of frontline officers in the country and, the better the response rate, the more influence it gives the Federation. Therefore, I would be very grateful if you were able to push the survey through your local branch channels.

If you have any questions or experience any further issues in taking the survey, please email at researchanddatacollection@polfed.org.

Closing date: Monday 28 October 2024.

MFS Police Family Finance Index

Police Officers and Police Staff! Please help Metfriendly to help you. Can you spare 10 mins to help inform the future of UK Police remuneration?

Your thoughts couldn’t come at a more important time.

The Metfriendly Police Family Finance Index (PFFI) is different to the Federation's Pay and Morale Survey, and is fully representative, capturing views from serving Officers and Staff, volunteers, retired Police and Police Family members.

Now in its 5th iteration, the PFFI report is established as a key independent input into Police Pay submissions, providing detailed insights into the financial pressures and wellbeing challenges faced by UK Police families on a daily basis.

Results of the most recent PFFI survey are referenced in the latest Police Remuneration Review Body report as well as appearing across the UK media.

Please feel free to forward on this email to anyone who is eligible to take part in the survey, so your voices can be heard!

Complete the survey before 31st October for the chance to win one of ten £100 Amazon Gift Cards.
